My mom always gave me great advice growing up, a phrase I carry with me always – “You can’t act like a victim of CF one day and then ask people to treat you normally the next.” In my own personal experiences, I have found that attitude is the most important aspect of my own life that I can worry about. While I have little to no control over the future, I do have control over my attitude and how I handle every situation that life places in my path. Living in the cystic fibrosis community can be difficult – negative statistics and outlooks are constantly placed in my path – but I have found that by blocking out the negative and truly working to keep a positive, uplifting attitude at all times, that I can overcome anything.
