“The Essence of Compassion: Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and wrong – because sometime with your life, you will have been one of these.” When I first read the words on this site – I immediately thought, tongue in cheek of course: ‘Attitude. My attitude is nasty – that’s what keeps me going.’ But the more I thought about it, I really relate my life to the word celebrate – because I celebrate my Cystic Fibrosis diagnosis as an adult. For it is through that diagnosis that I have encountered some of the most amazing people who I am lucky enough to call friends.
